Anyone missed me while I was gone? Hahaha.

So. I'm back from a short vacation to the town of Grik. My godaunt's hometown. She has family there plus some orchards and estates. So our two families set out for Tasek early 6am... needless to say I slept all the way through 3 states, waking up only when we reached the chalets.

So what did we do for 2 days? Ate. Slept. Ate some more. Slept some more. Thank goodness, my god-cousin, Florence, this really mature 14 yearold, was there to keep me company, especially when the men went wild boar hunting.
Can you imagine? Wild boar hunting. Hah. So not my thing.
I almost fell on my knees and wept when I discovered that the TV had 8TV.
Florence and I happily gorged on dried bananas and chips as we feasted our eyes on 'One Tree Hill' and 'Queer Eye'. Our mothers were snoring away. And the guys?

Sittin on the back of a truck, scannin for wild boars with just one powerful flashlight, rifles in hand, anticipatin the hunt, filled with bloodlust, their nostrils flaring.... ok ok, I'm exagerrating here. But HA. HA. They fired on a total of 6 boars. But got none! Guess their hunting skills were non-existent to begin with. *snicker*

So the next day I was in happy spirits because we were heading back to civilization after a short visit with god-aunt's brother. but OH NO..... the men are going boar hunting again!!!
And this time I felt like going along but NO! the women had to stay at home! Godaunt's eldest brother forbid women from huntin with the men!
OH! This is the year 2004! What discrimination! URGH. Male chauvinist pigs, hmph, well sock their hunting, pigs belong with the boars!

And so we waited... and waited.... and waited... and fell asleep....
they were gone for a total of 5 hours!!!
But at least 'Monsoon Wedding' was on Astro and we had really delicious pastries and curry puffs to fatten ourselves with.

HA. HA. HA. HA. HA.
Wild boar hunting? 5 hours? They didnt even catch sight of a tail of a wild boar!!!
HAHAHAHHAHAH. Serves them right.

So I reached home last night. Glad to be back. Well, to be honest, I did enjoy at least one moment of the entire trip, when we were sitting behind the truck, going thru bumpy roads, to the orchards, wind in our faces, the shit-like stench of the rubber estates, singing and laughing and screaming with delight. That was nice.

Well, they say every vacation has one defining moment, and I guess that was mine. :)
